“… just recently her paws have become much worse and I carry her. She can use the potty pad, I take her to it. Unfortunately, she has to lay down to go for number one.” — Gayle, Hydie’s Mom
About 1.5 years ago we noticed her walking strange, it was on a Saturday, we took her to the vet, who filled in occasionally, they took her to the back office, while we waited in the exam room, myself, my husband, and my son. There were 2 doors, 1 from the lobby, 1to the back office. Suddenly several assistant’s and the vet came in both doors, the vet said “this dog has 2 broken legs”. I said that is not possible. The vet said we need to make an appointment with Tulsa Veterinary Specialist. We got her in very quickly, she saw a surgeon who biopsied her bone and it was poly arthritis. We made her an appointment to come back to see the Internal medicine Specialists for management. The specialist was 130 miles away from us and her medicine cost was $183.00 per month. But that was ok, you do what needs to be done to take care of your family! The specialist discovered Hydie was not in pain which was great news. She had horrible crooked paws which made it difficult for her to walk.Just recently her paws have become much worse and I carry her. She can use the potty pad, I take her to it. Unfortunately, she has to lay down to go for number one.
